Behavioral Health Technician

Position Location: Oakdale, MN & St. Paul, MN

Northstar Behavioral Health is a team of chemical dependency professionals that specialize in medication assisted treatment through an inpatient residential multi-faceted programming structure at our St. Paul location for those battling opioid addition.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Behavioral Health Technician Position

  • The Behavioral Health Technician will help maintain a safe living atmosphere for adults in the early stages of recovery from opioid addiction.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will participate in all training as required by Northstar staff to which position reports to.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians adhere to the house schedule and policy and procedure rules of Northstar Behavioral Health.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will help with resident meal preparation.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will become trained by our RN to help residents with monitored administration of medication

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will help transport residents to community functions, AA/NA meetings within a 15-mile radius of our facility location, and various appointments.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians must be willing to work overnight shift. Overnight shift consists of bed checks every hour from the time the first resident goes to sleep and when the last resident wakes up.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will also help to clean facility.

  • Behavioral Health Technicians will thoroughly document in the appropriate log books and will effectively communicate with other Behavioral Health Technicians at shift change.

Training

  • Participate in all training as required by Northstar staff to which position reports to.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Must have two years of freedom from chemical use problems

  • Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check

  • Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Must have an acceptable driving record

  • CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
