Mental Health Services

Northstar Behavioral Health offers mental health services that provide ongoing, well-rounded support to our clients. We focus on finding structure and accountability in order to interrupt addictive behaviors and create healthy and balanced patterns of living.

Our personalized services help ensure long-term success and move our clients toward the life they want.

Individual Counseling

We focus on providing services to those struggling with opioid use, addressing: mental health symptoms, anxiety, sadness, grief and loss, stress, life transitions and more.

Our health providers complete a comprehensive assessment and develop a personalized treatment plan. We provide a space for every individual to explore and gain insight into their unique combination of life stressors and circumstances, and we design a plan to improve critical coping skills.

Group Counseling

We offer group counseling that incorporates mental health and substance use. These sessions offer a safe and comfortable environment for individuals to address problems and emotional concerns. The small group setting enables enhanced insight into individual's thoughts and behaviors through suggestions and support from others.

Individuals can benefit from the social interactions that are part of the group counseling experience. Differing ages, backgrounds and experiences help to provide additional insight and perspectives.

Family Counseling

We offer counseling for the whole family, designed to improve troubled relationships with your partners, children, or other family members. A client's individual treatment plan will determine the level of participation by family members. Participation is highly encouraged.

We provide education around the impact that substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders has on a family, including financial, logistical, and emotional concerns.

Pre-marital Counseling

Preparing for a lifetime with your significant other can help ensure that you will enjoy a strong and healthy relationship. Our premarital counseling allows partners to explore and discuss communication, finances, values, family planning, traditions, and much more. Our pre-prepared and enriched inventory–is used to enhance the counseling experience,–resulting in a higher chance for a stable and satisfied marriage.
